Trees!

Hosted by Photobucket.com

When trying to find inspiration for my next drawing i turned to my friend josh. He suggested I draw a tree. So I went one step further and drew four trees, yep you heard right four trees! I can sense you're feeling of amazement at that fact from where i'm sitting right now.

Hi! Long time no see! (or should that be long time no post............whatever).

Haven't posted in a few days now. Had too much work (stupid latin essays and context questions.............. and biology coursework......oh and chemistry learning for a test........but i didn't do that anyway). Yep so here i am, making a post.

Well its been snowing on and off. But it hasn't been settling properly. Last night it snowed heavily and this morning there was some snow that settled but by the time i got home it had all melted. However on the way to school it did provide some entertainment. While walking up this reasonably steep hill called Jacksons lane there was a woman trying to cycle down the hill on the pavement on the other side of the road. The woman hadn't considered the fact that the pavements were icy and so as she speeded past all that could be heard was the sound of her screaming 'it won't stop, aaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhh the bike won't stop!' I know its bad to laugh at other people's misfortunes.............but I burst out laughing anyway. She kind of brought it on herself. Who rides a bike on icy pavements when theres a road next to it thats just been salted and is therefore ice free. And isn't it illegal to ride on pavements (i may be wrong but still.......). And in case you're wondering, once the woman reached the bottom of the pavement, she managed to manoever the unstoppable bike safely onto the road and just carried on riding.

And i'm happy to say I didn't slip over once (although i nearly did on three occasions, the first occasion being after only making a few steps out of my house). I am determined to not fall over.

Latin word of the week!

Well seeing as school starts again on Monday I thought it was time to start my homework, one of my homeworks being latin vocab learning. So I've decided to start a latin word of the week post where every week i will post a completely random and useless latin word from my vocab list for as long as I can be bothered.
So the first ever latin word of the week is.........................dum dum DUM..............' rudis = a stick or rod'

Storm

Hosted by Photobucket.com

Yep its storm and yep its a bad photo of the picture. I really must get a new scanner (well i really must get a new computer). As i said i'm not so keen on it.

Panini trauma

What a boring day i have had today. Well at least i did do something. I drew a picture of the x-man storm. Unfortunately it doesn't look very good (well i don't think its a very good drawing, it kind of just feels unfinished). I'll post it tomorrow because my sister is being a camera hog and has taken the camera up to her room (and has fallen asleep).

However i did go out around the corner *gasp*. Yep i went to get a sandwich for lunch. I had already fried and eaten some eggs which was kind of a brunch but i was still hungry and so was my sister. So being the kind brother that I am (even after my sister had repeatedly made the point that my fried eggs had made the house smell and had been going around the house spraying air freshener and opening all the windows. It was not as bad as she made out and it was worth the smell cos the eggs tasted good, they weren't off or anything) I ventured out into the freezing cold weather to get the sandwiches. My journey took me briefly to my parents office to get some money to buy the snadwiches with. Then I journeyed through the blistering winds towards the shop. It was already starting to rain (which it then did for most of the day, not that I mind as i like rain) but i soldiered on, eventually arriving at the shop.

Once there I embarked on making my order, two large lemon chicken rolls and one panini with motzerella, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto (one of the large lemon chicken rolls being for my sister's friend). The woman serving me just gave me the 'you greedy pig stare'. She then asked 'you want them all large?' again giving me the 'you greedy pig stare'. I just replied ' yes.' To be honest I couldn't really understand a lot of what the woman said to me so trying to get her to carry out my sister's slightly fussy order of a little bit of butter on the roll with salad but without any tomatoes wasn't much fun. The woman kept asking whether I wanted butter in the roll (which got slightly annoying after the 5th time) and I didn't understand a lot of her other questions so I just nodded (I have to wonder what ended up in the two rolls). So I eventually completed my task and ventured home to eat my panini. Oh and in case you were wondering the panini tasted good.

The Mole!!!!!!!!!!

Hosted by Photobucket.com

As i'm sure you can tell its another one of my drawings, this time its of a mole. I don't know why i was drawing random animals, i just couldn't find anything to draw and then i found this old book i had when i was a child about animals (although it wasn't really a children's book) and i just thought why not. So thats why these pictures are of random animals.

Drawings

Hosted by Photobucket.com

This is one of a few quick sketches i did recently during my exam modules time recently. I got increasingly frustrated at trying to revise and failing miserably (as i'd realise hardly any of what i'd been trying to learn had actually been going in and then i'd look at what i still had to learn, realising i hadn't even learnt a quarter of what i had to for the exam............depressing times). I found I had urges to draw (which was weird because i hadn't drawn anything in absolutely ages.......probably not since i gave up art 2 years ago) and the drawing was actually quite relaxing. It took my mind off the stupid exams and i felt like i had actually accomplished something with my time (which i wasn't while doing revision). I even found myself craving drawing at early hours of the morning and so i did. With these sketches i decided to use a pen rather than pencil, meaning i couldn't rub out any mistakes and so i would just have to incorporate the mistakes into the final picture (how daring i am). So heres the most recent one i've done of a fox (i hope thats obvious).

The disabled albino catfish.

So, now you've met the snails, its time to meet the two remaining fish. They are both albino catfish (when i say catfish i mean very small catfish, nothing like the ones you see in ponds). They are tropical fish and they spend their days either floating along the bottom of the tank looking for food or just sitting on the bottom of the tank staring into space. One is big and fat and the other is quite small. Unfortunately the small one has developed the fish disease finrot. This has resulted in his fins seemingly just disappearing (i guess the disease has slowly rotted them away). For any other fish (like most of my guppies) this would have meant almost certain death. But not for this fish. He is determined to swim (even if, most of the time its just round in circles). And surprisingly he has survived for months like this, effectively disabled. Even the evil snails haven't been able to bump him off (though i have noticed them trying on a number of occasions).
So thats the story of the disabled albino catfish. More stories from the fish tank.............when something else eventually happens.

Those evil snails!

So now its 2 in the morning................don't know why i'm still up but i don't really feel tired. My day has consisted of me doing absolutely nothing (and i feel really stupid for completely wasting 24 hours where i could have done something constructive). I didn't even manage to feed the fish so the evil snails that have taken over the tank are probably even more hungry than usual and they have been known to turn carniverous. I hope my remaining fish are still there in the morning.

Speaking of fish i'm sure you're just dying to know about them. Well I now have only two remaining fish. As i said the tank has been taken over by evil snails. These snails appeared out of nowhere, seemingly growing out of nothing (i guess they must have somehow arrived in the tank on a plant). I believe (based on eyewitness accounts) that these snails have been attaching themselves to other fish and slowly sucking away at them until the fish finally succumbs, dropping to the bottom of the tank where all the other snails rush towards it (well being snails they slither but they are surprisingly fast for snails, i don't think they're normal) and just swarm on the fish. Next thing you know the fish is gone. I've noticed other seemingly abnormal activities by these snails. They float on the tank surface, riding the currents to travel around the tank and theres also the added bonus of being able to get the fish food at the surface, before it reaches the bottom of the tank where the two remaining fish eat it from. As i said these snails aren't normal. They seem to be able to adapt incredibly quickly to the constantly changing and progressively more extreme environment in my tank. It truly is an example of Darwin's theory (survival of the fittest) and the snails have certainly proven themselves to be the fittest.

Good Day (or should that be morning seeing as its past midnight)

Well hi. I thought i'd create this blog because i'm extremely bored (you can already tell this is going to be interesting.........). Don't know what i'll be writing here or what the real purpose of the blog will be. But for now i guess it will just be about random stuff i get up to or funny/interesting things i experience in my life (because my life is just sooooooo exciting.......who am i kidding).

So i'm just getting used to how this all works and i'd thought i'd add a little more colour into the blog.
